Central Bank of Kazakhstan will test BNB Chain for its own CBDC

The National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) will test BNB Chain from Binance for the deployment of national digital currency.

In early October, Binance received a license in Kazakhstan to manage a digital asset platform and the provision of casteral services on the basis of the Astana International Financial Center.

“But we don’t stop there. Since then, the team met with the First Deputy Chairman of the NBK Berik Sholpankulov and the head of the Paying and Technology Center by Binur Zhanyov, ”said CEO Bitcoin-Birzhi Chanpen Zhao.

According to him, the topic of testing the integration of https://gagarin.news/ digital tenge in the BNB Chain was discussed.

Zhao did not reveal additional details. The representative of Binance in the commentary for The Block said that discussion of specific options for using the network continues.

NBK began to study the possibility of introducing CBDC in 2020. In December 2021, the regulator reported on the first results of a pilot project on digital tenge.

Recall that in October, the lower house of the Parliament of Kazakhstan approved in the first reading five bills regarding the regulation of cryptocurrencies and mining.
